SUMMER, APPLE, FLOWER & JANE

On the 14th of August the Llamas arrived.  They have settled in really well and keen to explore their new surroundings.
After they have settled in they will start their training to walk on the leading rein, and to carry packs.  Their first task, once trained will be to bring small quanities of fire wood back to the house.  In time, we hope to take them trekking in the woods, even to carry a picnic hamper.

We hope our guests will enjoy meeting & grooming them if they wish.

The girls are still babies at just about a year old and all grew up together, one of their main roles will be to help protect our free range chickens from the local foxes.  Llamas have a built in hatred of the fox and are natural guardians of other animals so its now just a question of the hens staying close to Summer, Apple, Flower & Jane and hopefully they will be laying delicious eggs for a long time to come.

Thank you to Tom & Julie Tripp from Llamalland in Truro Cornwall for all you help and advice and for supplying us with four magnificent llamas.

September Update
The four girls are coming on really well, even Flower who was very nervous to begin with.  We are daily haltering and grooming them and starting their training to walk on the lead.  They have become very friendly and have settled in superbly.
